Caring for your cut flowers
We want you to get the most life out of your flowers! Follow these instructions to keep your bouquet blooming for as long as possible!
To ensure your flowers stay fresh and vibrant for as long as possible, follow these simple care instructions:
- Start with a clean vase: Wash your vase with warm, soapy water before adding water and flowers. This helps prevent the growth of bacteria that can shorten the vase life of your flowers.
- Trim the stems: Using sharp scissors or a knife, cut about an inch off the bottom of each stem at a 45-degree angle. This allows the flowers to absorb water more effectively.
- Remove leaves below the waterline: Leaves submerged in water can promote bacterial growth. Remove any foliage that would be below the water level in your vase.
- Use flower food: Dissolve the provided flower food packet in the water according to the instructions. Flower food contains nutrients and antimicrobial agents that help extend the life of your flowers.
- Change the water regularly: Every two to three days, empty the vase, rinse it thoroughly, and refill it with fresh water and flower food. This helps prevent the buildup of bacteria.
- Avoid direct sunlight and heat: Place your vase of flowers in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight, heating vents, and drafts. Heat and sunlight can cause the flowers to wilt more quickly.
- If a flower begins to wilt or fade, remove it from the arrangement to prevent it from affecting the other flowers.
